Previous Public LTEMP MeetingsApril 2012 Public Meeting to Discuss AlternativesMembers of the public participated in a two-day meeting on alternatives being considered for inclusion in the LTEMP EIS. The meeting was held on April 4 and 5, 2012 at the High Country Conference Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. A call-in number was provided for those unable to attend in person. Over 70 people attended the meeting, including members of the public, stakeholders, and project staff from Reclamation, NPS, and Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne). Preliminary alternative concepts being considered for the LTEMP EIS were presented and discussed at the April meeting, which was hosted by Reclamation and the NPS. Stakeholders and other attendees who had alternatives to propose were able to present those ideas at the meeting, and four individuals representing different stakeholder groups presented their ideas. Following the presentations, meeting attendees broke into smaller groups and focused on evaluating and refining the preliminary alternative concepts. These small groups reported their discussions in an open forum during the meeting. An initial list of draft preliminary alternative concepts developed by the joint-lead agencies prior to the meeting is available in the newsletter below.
The presentation made at the meeting by the EIS team is available below.
Two members of the public also presented alternative concepts for consideration by the LTEMP EIS team. Links to these presentations are provided below.
Web-based Public Meetings on Scoping ReportTwo Web-based meetings were held on March 27, 2012 to provide a summary of public comments on the scope of the LTEMP EIS. A total of about 30 people participated in the meetings. Staff from Reclamation, NPS, and Argonne presented a slide-show overview of public scoping comments. Members of the public were afforded the opportunity to ask questions about the scoping process and other aspects of the project. The presentation slides used for the Web-based meetings are available below.
